This week, I had a great chat with Ryan Treweek. If you're in the construction biz, Ryan's probably a familiar name. He spent a chunk of his career at Multiplex, where he wore different hats, starting as a Contract Administrator, then moving into contract and commercial management. Later, he ventured into the exciting world of business development with Icon, where he stayed for quite some time. Recently, Ryan stepped into the role of Director at Visibuild, which we'll dive into during the podcast.
Now, why was this conversation so interesting? Well, even though Ryan has moved on from the construction game, he's super candid about the industry's challenges. With his extensive network of clients, developers, builders, and colleagues, he's got his finger on the pulse of what's happening not just in Melbourne but across Australia.
We covered a lot. Ryan dished out some insightful thoughts on productivity and the industry's state of play. He touched on conflict resolution and the strategies head contractors use to boost profits while keeping a close eye on their numbers. We delved deep into the world of big projects, discussing everything from shrinking margins to the costs of defects and post-construction expenses.
Of course, we couldn't miss talking about Visibuild. It's quality assurance software that's live and kicking, helping builders and developers keep a keen eye on their projects. It's all about streamlining programs and quality checks to tackle the age-old issue of quality problems in the construction world.
So, all in all, a fascinating conversation!
